A New Garden!
Anam Cara, our property along Eagle Creek in Owen County, Kentucky and the location of many of the activities for Thin Space Ministries, just received the addition of another garden. We have had an ongoing issue with a small underground spring which, along with rain water from our downspouts, resulted in a muddy hillside. Thanks to the education I received from Midway Christian Church, Adele Dickerson, and Dan Roller, I brought up the idea of a rain garden to designer, Vernon Sims from Wilson's Nursery. With Vernon’s design in hand, Wilson’s landscapers brought the drawings to life. A special thank you to Nick, the foreman on the project and independent proprietor of Big Blue Landscaping in Lexington, along with crewmen, Derek, John, and Greg who put in long hours in the heat of the day, installed our Ransbottom family dinner bell and graciously accepted my bribe of homemade cookies. Your creation is absolutely beautiful! Mark and I will be adding a stone bench to the end of the walkway that surrounds the lower half of the garden. Our hope is that it will provide one more "thin space" where our guests can pray while listening for the heartbeat of God.
